RÍA AAYIN is a family-run retreat on the edge of the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, set in a small fishing village on Yucatán's northern coast. Our four 70 m² apartments rise over three levels, from a full kitchen at street level to a private rooftop terrace with a mini-pool, steps from our pier on the ría. Made for slow mornings and long stays, your apartment is both home and basecamp, connecting you with the flamingos, the beaches and the Maya heart of eastern Yucatán.

Every winter, thousands of birds return to the Ría Lagartos coast to rest, feed and wait out the cold. The Migratory Bird Experience is our invitation to do the same: a long-stay package designed for travelers who want to live here for a while, not just pass through.
How it works:
Choose your season. Stay 7, 15 or 30 nights, or by the month. The longer you stay, the lower your nightly rate.
Add meal service. Home-style Yucatecan meals, arranged by the week, so you can spend your days outside and come home to the table already set.
Make it yours. Add airport transfers from Cancún or Mérida, a private driver for day trips, boat transfers to our private beach, and certified local guides for birding and exploring.

Our Story.
Ría Aayin began with a simple dream. Our founder, Ángel Massa, comes from this corner of Yucatán, and he always wanted to give something back to the place that shaped him: a home where travelers could discover the ría he grew up with, and a project that would bring life and work to the port.
We built Ría Aayin with that in mind, using materials native to the region and designing every apartment to feel open to the water, the light and the birds. It isn't a hotel. It's our family's home on the ría, and we open it to you.
When you stay with us, you're a guest of the family. Our team is from Río Lagartos, and they'll be happy to recommend the best seafood in town, arrange a boat to the reserve, or simply share a story by the firepit.
