Itinerary
Day one: Pick up at meeting point and Izamal Pueblo Magico
10:00am - Hotel or meeting point pick up in Mérida or Cancun*, one hour transfer by car to Izamal, "Pueblo Mágico" core of the Maya Land, fussion of two cultures, Izamal showcase both, Pre Hispanic sacred sites and Colonial Arquitecture as the Franciscan convent build in 1543 by Fray De Landa. Visit at the Handcrafts market and Regional Gastronómical Experience.
Transfer to Río Lagartos and check in at Ría Aayin Apartments around 5:00pm.
*Departure from Cancun changes the itinerary of the package, consult us for more information.
Day two: Birdwatching by boat and Mayan Bath
10:00am - Departure to Río Lagartos Biosphere, the first in México declared by the Unesco since 1986. This amazing lagoon system surrounded by green mangroves formation is home of crocodiles and many birds species including the Flamingos, which are present all year around, a fantastic photo safari with Ariel a Native experienced Professional Guide. In addition a Mayan bath with very fine sand with exfoliating qualities, that was also a natural sunscreen protection for the Mayan people, it is the perfect complement to end an already fantastic journey in direct contact with nature and its elements, an unforgettable experience.
Back to Ría Aayin around 2:00pm.
Day three: Ek Balam, Hubiku Cenote, Valladolid Pueblo Magico and Chichen Itza
10:00 am - A 50 minute transfer by car to Ek Balam visiting this unique and very important archeological site of the Mayan World, settled in the middle of the jungle. Next visit is the Cenote Hubiku, a totally refreshing experience to dive in from a deck or a zip-line that run across the middle of the cenote, a great day of fun and adventure.
And as all of this was not enough, will stop to the colonial city of Valladolid the other "Pueblo Mágico" of Northeastern Yucatán, very original downtown architecture, and have supper Yucatán food at a famous restaurant where goes who's who in Yucatán, another culinary experience, the Top expression of the regional gastronomy.
At this point of the tour weather permitting and if still with energy, the cherry on the cake: Chichen Itza by Night, a show that combine lights show, music and mysticism, time to connect with your inner self, or to simply share a special moment, connect with the Mayan culture on a spiritual level. This tour is often repeated, people want to share this with their beloved ones, and every time it's different because everything change and move on a perpetual movement like the planet, the oceans, and our blood as well.
Final transfer by car back to Ría Aayin. Late, long and satisfactory day out in nature and culture.
Day four: Las Coloradas Pink Waters and Platinum Beach
Departure Time 9:00am from our private Pier, length 6 hour transfer by boat, back to Ria Aayin around 3:00pm.
Visit the amazing pink waters of Las Coloradas, a natural salt production site since ancient Mayan time.
Sail along the magnificent east cost of the Gulf of México, admiring the lush mangrove formation and pristine white sandy beach that create the coast dune of Río Lagartos National Park. In order to assure best tourism practices, the tour at Las Coloradas will last 30 minutes approximately; due to its delicate balance, a limited number of visitors per day is allowed, this is a great pictures opportunity not to miss on your visit at the northeastern Maya Land of Yucatán.
Short after we will sail again, this time to a sink hole founded in the middle of the sea. These are geological formation like the cenotes on land but on a marine environment, their peculiar formation will surprise any water lover. Abundant marine life to admire snorkeling and fun sport fishing on the site are allowed.
This part of the tour is weather conditioned. Visit at our Platinum Beach, time to relax or to take a walk on the wild side of Río Lagartos beaches, Robinson Crusoe Style! Bottles of water are included, additional food and beverage service are available upon request. Due to its ecological reserve status, the Platinum Beach must be visited with extra care, not only we do not leave anything that does not belong there, we also provide garbage bag in the event that someone feel like help to collect plastic that may be brought over night by the ocean waves and current, it is very common to feel the urge to collaborate in a beach clean up.
The time to go back is up to you, our boat transfer only last 20 minutes at a pace that is gently on the environment and on ourselves, as we pass through areas that are teamed with life everywhere. Will have binoculars to take advantage of this marvelous opportunity as it happens, there is always a surprise on the way home.
Day 5: Holbox and Fireplace Farewell Dinner
10:00am transfer by boat sailing to Holbox. Nestled off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Holbox is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. This charming island is a haven for nature enthusiasts, sun-seekers, and those in search of a tranquil escape. Lunch Time with fresh seafood and regional dishes on the menu. Back to Ria Aayin early afternoon, good bye dinner around the fire place in our beautiful garden.
Day 6: Airport transfer
12:00pm Check out and airport transfer by car.
