The certification of Platinum Beach or better known in Spanish as Playa Platino, means that the beach has all the requirements to be a "healthy beach".

The beaches that have the certification, are free of contamination (like trash, hazardous waste, oils, petroleum or stool), have all the security guidelines, have the necessary infrastructure and keep safe all the species that live there.

The program of Platinum Beaches, are under the concepts of involving the local community in the sustainability of the beach and all the living things in there, promote responsible tourism, provide quality of service and security for all the visitors and keep the environment clean and free of contamination.

What are the requirements to get the Platinum Beach certification?

Following those concepts, the beaches need to have a couple of characteristics like:

• Sings and trash cans

• Lifeguard, lifeguard tower and security

• Bathrooms and showers

• Water quality
